Please ensure to adhere to the competition rules to guarantee fairness and the smooth progression of the event.

Abiding by the rules is the responsibility of every participant. Let us work together to create an enjoyable and positive competition environment. Thank you for your cooperation.

Rules and Regulations of the 2025 International Asian Youth Music Competition

 

Preliminary Round Rules

1. Repertoire Selection

    •    Participants may select their own repertoire, which can include classical or contemporary works.

    •    Only one piece is required for each round. Participants may perform the same piece for both the preliminary and final rounds; preparing two different pieces is not necessary.

 

2. Video Requirements

    •    Format: Videos must be submitted in MP4 format.

    •    Recording Conditions: Videos must be recorded in a single, fixed camera angle with adequate lighting, without any edits or modifications.

    •    Visibility:

    •    Videos must clearly show the upper body and both hands of the performer.

    •    For other instrumentalists, the full or main portion of the instrument must be visible.

    •    Singers may wear headphones during recording but must ensure their upper body and microphone are clearly visible.

    •    Accompanists, if present, must be clearly visible, including the pianist or primary accompanist.

    •    For orchestra or ensemble performances, all group members must be visible in the video.

    •    Resubmission: Any video suspected of rule violations will require resubmission.

    •    Recording Date: Videos must be recorded after January 30, 2025.

 

3. Attire Requirements

    •    Participants are required to wear formal attire during the performance recording.

 

4. Registration

    •    Each participant may choose one or two competition categories.

    •    A maximum of two categories is allowed per participant.

Final Round Rules

1. Competition Venue

    •    The final round will take place at the Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore.

 

2. Competition Procedure

    •    Participants who pass the preliminary round will advance to the final round, which will be conducted live on-site.

    •    All finalists must arrive punctually. Late arrivals will result in forfeiture of competition eligibility.

 

3. Reporting Time

    •    Finalists must check in at the venue 30 minutes before the competition starts. Special circumstances requiring adjustments must be reported in advance.

 

4. On-Site Conduct

    •    Finalists, parents, and audience members must maintain silence at the competition venue.

    •    Unauthorized photography, recording, or live streaming is strictly prohibited.

 

5. Results Announcement and Award Ceremony

    •    Results will be announced at the conclusion of the competition. Certificates and trophies will be awarded on-site to winners.

    •    For those requiring certificates and trophies to be mailed, a valid address must be provided. (Shipping to regions outside China may take approximately one month.)

General Rules

1. Judging Criteria

    •    Participants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

    •    Pitch Accuracy

    •    Technical Proficiency

    •    Musical Expression

    •    Stage Presence

    •    The jury’s decision is final. Contestants are not permitted to challenge or appeal the results.

 

2. Awards

    •    Each category will feature the following awards:

    •    First Prize

    •    Second Prize

    •    Third Prize

    •    Excellence Award

    •    Awards will be granted based on performance levels rather than absolute rankings.

 

3. Special Invitations

    •    First and second prize winners will be invited to the final round to represent Asian youth musicians. The final round is scheduled for May 2025.

 

4. Rights to Media

    •    All photos, videos, and audio recordings from the competition are the property of the organizers. The organizers reserve the right to use these materials within legal boundaries.

 

5. Participation Fees

    •    Registration fees are non-refundable.

    •    Finalists are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and other expenses during the competition.

 

6. Miscellaneous

    •    The organizers reserve the right to make the final interpretation of the competition rules.

    •    Any matters not covered in these rules will be addressed in additional notices.

Special Statement:

 

All participants in this competition must strictly adhere to the rules and regulations to ensure fairness and order. Any violation of the rules may result in disqualification at the discretion of the organizers.
