Age Group Description
Group I: 7 years old or younger (born after January 23, 2018)
Group II: 8-9 years old (January 24, 2016 to January 23, 2017)
Group III: 10-11 years old (January 24, 2014 to January 23, 2015)
Group IV: 12-13 years old (January 24, 2012 to January 23, 2013)
Group V: 14-15 years old (January 24, 2010 to January 23, 2011)
Group VI: 16-17 years old (January 24, 2008 to January 23, 2009)
Group VII: 18 years old or older (born before January 24, 2008)
Each instrument is further divided into different style-based categories. Participants may register for multiple categories, but each instrument is limited to a maximum of two categories per participant.
Repertoire Requirements
• Each participant must perform one piece per category. The composer is not restricted; original compositions and adaptations are allowed.
• Participants registering for two categories must perform two different pieces, one for each category.
Performance Time
• Exceeding Time Limit: Performances exceeding the allotted time will be stopped by the judges, but no points will be deducted.
• Under Time Limit: Performances shorter than the required time will not result in point deductions.
Instrumental Group
• Group I: Up to 2 minutes
• Group II: Up to 4 minutes
• Group III: Up to 4 minutes
• Group IV: Up to 5 minutes
• Group V: Up to 6 minutes
• Group VI: Up to 8 minutes
• Group VII: Up to 8 minutes
Vocal Group
• Group I: Up to 2 minutes
• Group II: Up to 2 minutes
• Group III: Up to 3 minutes
• Group IV: Up to 3 minutes
• Group V: Up to 3 minutes
• Group VI: Up to 4 minutes
• Group VII: Up to 4 minutes
